but got this error:

Where exactly did this error appear? What version of WordPress are you using?

using wordpress 1.5.1.3
is what it says in my wordpress dashboard.
all i did was upload the theme
and view the main page in my browser (firefox 2.0).
btw, indicating my level/lack of skill:
i’m not a coder. i just use the tools.

The theme I made is basically only a cosmetic redesign of the underlying Hemingway theme. I would guess that you need to upgrade your WordPress installation?
