Hemingway meets CognitiveCombine III
Once again I have created a new theme by modifying Hemingway. This time I have implemented rounded corners and have given the design a unified appearance.
You can have a look at a live preview here.
Questions, comments or criticism always welcome.
Update 11 June 2008:
Apologies, but I do not currently have the time to offer support. Commenting on this post is temporarily closed. Please try to obtain support at the WordPress forums.

Hemingway meets CognitiveCombineIII is beautiful work. I find it fresh, original, and innovative.
Unfortunately, each time I try to envoke the “blogroll,” I get “WordPress database error: [Unknown column 'cat_1' in 'order clause']
SELECT * FROM wp_categories WHERE cat_ID > 0 AND link_count > 0 ORDER BY cat_1 ASC” on the home page.
I’ve loaded a couple of other themes which don’t seem to have any problems with the database. Do you know of anything I might do to use this theme with full functionality?
Thank you,
Chuck

Please go to the blocks folder and open blogroll.php, change the value 1 to ID, save and upload, the blogroll should work then.

I new at this WordPress thing and, thus, new to Hemingway meets CognitiveCombineIII. Perhaps I not understanding just how things are supposed to work. The version of WordPress my host offers is 2.0.4, if that makes a difference. My problem is that when I create pages (as opposed to posts), even though I’ve checked the ‘Allow Comments’ option, when the page displays, there is no option to make a comment.
Thanks!

Henry:
I don’t think the problem you are having has anything to do with the theme. The best place to look for help would be the WordPress forums. Good luck.

Yeah, CC, I came to that same conclusion. Thanks for taking the time to respond.

keep getting “Warning: Hemingway::include(/home/.guy/hidden/mysite.com/blog/wp-content/themes/hemingway-meets-cognitivecombine-iii-100/blocks/slidebar_left.php)”
errors everytime i try to activate this theme. It only happens on the bottom section. Using latest wordpress theme
what gives?

I would have to see the full error to know what the issue is.

how can you edit the code to have an ellipsis (…) at the end of the post excerpts that appear when you submit your post? instead of the sentence just ending without any indication that there is more to read?

Is it possible to have the posts appear in 2 columns like in the original Hemingway theme? If so how?

Paul,
Everything is possible, but the moment you delete the credits you’re on your own.

My bad, “give credit where credit is due”!

This is a great theme, thanks for putting it together!!
I have a formatting question:
How would I change the code to make it so if I click on an monthly archive or post category all the posted in that archive/category are listed, instead of just one?
For example, I’d like to be able to click on “March 2008″ and have it list all of my March 2008 posts on one page

Hi! I love this theme, it’s exactly what I spent ages looking for.
I have a question silimar to Daves (above) except I was wondering if there’s any way to show the full post on the main page?
Failing that, I would also like to know how to have elipses at the end of the excerpts, because having a post cut off in the middle of a sentence doesn’t look very professional.
Thank you for taking the time to create this theme, and for your help.
Cerys.
