Firefox 3.6b1 – First Impression

firefox_logo As you probably already know, the beta of Firefox 3.6 is out, a quick first look.I just gave the beta a go, and I must say it is definitely faster. I tested it by going to Gizmodo and deviantART, two sites I visit on a daily basis that put some serious load on the browser. But this time I could tell there was a hike in speed.

Some of the new features:

  • Change the way Firefox looks using Personas.
  • Keep your plugins up to date.
  • Watch full screen video.
  • Enjoy typography on the web using WOFF fonts.
  • Feel the speed with improved JavaScript performance, browser responsiveness, and startup time.
  • Get the most out of the web with support for new CSS, DOM, and HTML5 web technologies.
  • See the release notes for a full list.

And you are greeted by an extremely cool screen, so what more could you want?
