What are cloud operating systems?
Cloud operating systems work as services that are provided over a network or the internet. It means that the system and the applications within it, reside on a server and are often used through the browser.
EyeOS is one such cloud operating system. A few weeks ago I installed it on my Ubuntu machine. The installation was very easy, simply unzip the files into your web root folder (you need to have the Apache and php packages installed), run the installation script, and you're good to go.
WEP wifi encryption, a thing of the past
If, despite the many warnings, you are still using WEP encryption to secure your wifi network, now is a good time to switch to WPA.

Cross-browser bookmarks syncing

Many of us use several different browsers through-out the day. You might use IE at the office, Safari on your Mac and Firefox on your Linux machine. Keeping track of bookmarks and making sure all your browsers remain synced can be a real pain. I recently tried using an application called BookDog which attempts to keep your bookmarks (between Safari and Firefox) synced on the same machine.
