Goodbye suckers: how not to do it
After having been sentenced to twelve years in prison for shooting a youth of foreign origin and paralysing him in the process, an Austrian doctor decided to commit suicide in his prison cell. Before that, he wrote a suicide note wherein he confessed to other racism-based attacks as well as a high profile bombing of a Mosque in Vienna.
Contrary to his plans however, he did not expire in glory, and is now being grilled by investigators concerning his other crimes.

UbuntuME: Keeps Growing!
For those who do not know what UbuntuME is, it is a version of Ubuntu, customised by Ubuntu users and tailored to the needs of Muslim and/or Arab users. It comes preinstalled with software such as a prayer times scheduler, a Qur'an study tool, web content filtering etc.. There is also a meta-package available.
The project has now added a sub section to host open source projects that would be of relevance to UbuntuME. Further, work has begun on an Arabic language learning tool codenamed 'Muallim', which means 'teacher'.
Overall this project has great potential, not only does the idea behind open source fit in nicely with Islamic teachings and ideals of community and sharing, but it is also a very viable alternative to expensive and proprietary software.
